An open letter to lost magazine and newspaper subscriptions:

Dear People:

\JWhile I worked for semi-reputable corporations (Hewlett-Packard and
Signetics), it seemed I could do no wrong. You blessed me with your
publications. However, now as a "start-up" company --whose existence
is due in part to the information I gleaned from your pages-- I have
become a leper. I went into business to be able to exert \F2more\F1
influence on the market place; people, such as myself,
do not make such moves for a lark.
It would therefore seem to me that publications that extoll their readers
to "keep up" by reading their offerings, and whose other major
reason for existence is to attract buyers for their advertised products,
would
at least give beginning companies the benefit of the doubt.
